Based only on what I know of the geek population, I would have guessed that the blogosphere (yep, I used the word again) would be the place to be deeper into the evening (and by evening, I mean my U.S. evening, of course.) In reality, the day’s popular topics are already way ahead of me by the time I’ve had my own daily cup of coffee (2:30pm.)
As a case in point, I was going to comment on an interesting New York Times article from this morning – my headline was “Napoleon doesn’t drive a Prius.” But, by the time I got around to it, the world was already on to the next topic.
And so I failed, again. But at least I’ve come to realize that getting up early has become the new staying up late.
In honor of my new realization, I’m going to post a post in the morning rather than at midnight (my midnight, not New Zealand’s) and report back on whether or not it shows up on techmeme.
