It would stand to reason that a person living in the great (read: sparsely populated) state of South Dakota would be especially ambitious at social networking. And yet, here I am, the biggest social network misfit on the Internet.
The community at large needs to realize that my Internet already has too many cool/distracting places to go. And until developers stop launching these services, I can’t be expected to be a responsible networker. As proof, I have only seven or so connections, 25 or so friends (link omitted due to racy content,) and no drinking buddies. I won’t even get into the state of my bookmarks in my ma.gnolia, del.icio.us, blink, etc accounts.
I’m starting to wonder if social networks aren’t geared more for the people who don’t know about them yet (those who aren’t already online around the clock.) I hope that’s true – it would make me feel better about not having a single photo in my flickr account.
