I had the smaller infiniti suv, but a trip with an infant and a few bikes “convinced” me we needed the bigger vehicle. It was a case where I made a switch based on a three or four times a year need.

I’m not environmentally aware enough to go all Prius, but even with a second little one coming I’m realizing there are lot of decent hybrid vehicles with enough room for kids that can still tow (like the RXh.)

OK, I will be the anti-green. My wife actually wants a QX56 (not what I want, but the wife wins), though we are looking at Benz and BMW cars as well…not exactly sure what we want to do with out modes of transportation…4 little kids makes a prius tight.

Right now, Honda Odyssey and Escalade. Thought is this, keep the Odyssey, I want a truck, get another car either just for fun or just for a smaller piece of the family to ride in, get rid of the Escalade – thing runs great, but 4 kids can trash a vehicle.

I will find you if the QX does not sell in a bit. Still holding out on bikes as well. Do you have a Yamaha Rhino?

Yeah, replacing a Toureg with a Prius has a little more impact than replacing a Jetta with a Prius.

Congrats!

We’d do the same thing in the Vilhauer family, but we’ve nearly got both cars paid off and the idea of having no car payments is something special, I have to say.

Though I’m certainly not SUVing the world up – not with our yuppie Jetta and Subaru Outback.
