Flat content

February 28, 2007 —

The RSS Reader is an entirely broken device. The reading experience is wrong. The idea that 68 posts covering Google conquests can hit me in a single day is evidence.

My entire field of news and information is flattened by my feed reader. Topic, author, credibility, popularity, context, and relevancy are all stripped.

I want a new reading device. I want it web-based and fast and platform ambivalent. I want it to keep conversations from piling up if I don’t have time to read them. And I want it to leave the context in my content.

More on this coming.

What reader are you using? I have found the web version of NewsGator to be most excellent. I haven’t tried many others but haven’t found a need to. Maybe a need to start dating again.
