I won’t give a thousandth opinion on what’s going down over at digg tonight, but you have to wonder at the value of a content discovery mechanism steered by a mob with an average user age / maturity factor of 14.
For those of you who don’t know, digg pulled a submission linking to a dvd encryption hack. And the kids didn’t like it.
Let me get on the record challenging anyone proposing the community content discovery category is full. There’s a lot of room left in that space.

I watched that unfold last night. I thought it was somewhat amazing.
I can’t believe the stance that Digg/K. Rose has taken on this….could quite possibly be a fatal one. Craziness.
I assume you mean his most recent post about not complying with the takedown notice. He’s opting to take the chance of being sued vs loosing his community. I like it.
Yeah…bold move. There’s a time to show your posse that you have some cajones and there’s a time to listen to the suits. I would have opted for the suits, myself.
